This story tells you about a bunch of businesspeople with similar goals but conflicting visions that lead them to do actions that are seemingly illicit (target / perception / execution).
What's the plot summary?
Malcolm Landgraab, a young businessman from an old money aristocratic family, manages the Landgraab company in shame due to a sudden and huge income drop. He finds various ways to maintain his finances back to how it used be, with the help of a rather shady syndicate. The process leads Malcolm into a deeper consideration about his whole career and who he is as an individual. Mind that those ways aren't always profitable and safe, however.

The main characters, places and overall setting are based on a pre-existing media, The Sims (yes, the life simulation game). The Sims 4 to be exact. With the purpose of expanding some of the characters' backstories and giving them in-depth representations of their traits. Because most players (AKA Simmers) find that out of all Sims franchises, The Sims 4 is the only one with the least amount of depth when it comes to lore.
What is the genre of this fan fiction?
Mainly action-drama stuff, but it can be psychological thriller, slice of life and coming of age too!

How long have you been working on this?
The very small parts of the story are pieces from 2017. Took a hiatus from The Sims, until 2020 when I started fixing and constructing the basics of the plot. Started to get clearer in late 2021. So I guess 2 and a half years?
Where does this story takes place and time in?
Most of the locations take place in The Sims 4's cities, such as San Myshuno, Willow Creek, Tartosa, Evergreen Harbour, you get the idea. Also, this takes place in the modern times aka present day, which makes this story a contemporary fan fiction.

  • Entrepreneurs & Wiseacres is a meta-memoir fanfiction that self-references its author, as a main deuteragonist: Afi Serras.

  • The story's original concept started out as a comic format, but changed into movie-like drawing shots because of its heavy inspirations and references on most action movies, and allowing the author to study and apply advanced techniques on cinematography.

  • Several theories from fans suggested that The Sims 4 as a whole game is considered a social experiment due to how "bad" and how late the essential features are added, and that EA tests their players by giving lower quality (compared to previous Sims games) content on purpose. Because of the said theory, Entrepreneurs & Wiseacres' whole plot and its main characters references it by using the characters to do social experiments as well.

  • Before Entreprenerus & Wiseacres, its former name was "The Businessman & The Wisenheimer". (Re)Constructed in February 2020, it originally consisted of 2 main characters with the respective said epithets, Malcolm and Afi Serras. Back then, the syndicate had 2 additional members: The Innocent and The Playboy. This concept was scrapped due to irrelevancy of both ideas.

  • Entrepreneurs & Wiseacres is a Sims 4 fan fiction, and Electronic Arts is The Sims franchise's bigger company which is well known for its expensive DLCs and other game contents. The main characters of this fan fiction reflects on EA itself by the characterisation of them all being rather living a wealthy, workaholic life, and motivated by money-making, materialism, and greed.
